Windows and doors in Telford
We match homeowners in Telford with one vetted window and door installer covering the TF1, TF2, TF3 postcodes. We are an introducer, not an installer: we do not fit anything and we do not set prices. Your enquiry goes to a single installer, who surveys and quotes directly.
Telford is a new town, so its housing is younger and more uniform than most of Shropshire, and the glazing questions are different: far less conservation constraint, and a lot of original 1970s and 1980s units now reaching the end of their life all at once.

Housing stock
What Telford is built of
Most of Telford was built from the 1960s onwards, absorbing older settlements at Wellington, Oakengates, Madeley and Dawley. Housing is predominantly post-war estate, with a large stock of 1970s and 1980s properties whose original double glazing is now well past its design life. Older terraces survive in the historic centres, and newer estates continue at Lightmoor and Lawley.
Constraints
What you are allowed to fit
The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site sits at the southern edge of the borough, covering Ironbridge, Coalbrookdale, Jackfield and Coalport. Conservation area and listed building rules there are strict, and uPVC is routinely refused. The older centres of Wellington, Oakengates and Madeley have their own conservation areas. Elsewhere in Telford, constraints are light.
Our guides on conservation areas, listed buildings and building regulations cover this in detail.

The districts we cover here
A vetted installer covers the inked districts. Anything outside them and the form will say so rather than take an enquiry we cannot place. The hatched districts are nearby towns we know and have not yet signed an installer for.

Questions
Questions about Telford
- Do you cover all of Telford?
- We cover the TF1, TF2, TF3, TF4, TF5, TF7 postcode districts. If your postcode falls outside those, the form will tell you straight away rather than taking your details.
- How many installers will contact me in Telford?
- One. We pass your enquiry to a single vetted installer covering your postcode, rather than selling it to several firms who each then ring you.
- Do I need planning permission in Telford?
- For most properties, replacing windows is permitted development and needs no application. Telford & Wrekin Council holds the conservation area boundaries and any Article 4 directions, and those remove that right where they apply. Listed buildings always need listed building consent.
- Who signs off the building regulations?
- A FENSA, CERTASS or Assure registered installer self-certifies the work and sends you the certificate. If your installer is not registered, you have to apply to Telford & Wrekin Council building control yourself.
TrustedGlazing does not install windows or doors in Telford or anywhere else. We are an introducer. The installer we match you with surveys, quotes and contracts with you directly.
